Speaking with others about the most important issues in our lives often proves to be very daunting. So, it is important that each person in the conversation actively listen to the other and possess the necessary understanding to contribute meaningfully to the dialogue. With this in mind, and offering a broad range of expertise, Timothy offers variety of conversations intended to help men and women better understand the seminal issues shaping their lives and more easily share these concerns with others.

Through SilentHeron.net, Timothy offers conversations intended to foster “contemplatives in action”. These discussions address issues of prayer, spiritual reading and discernment as well as through in-depth spiritual reflection and creative expression (including the exploration of broader issues of creativity, innovation and change when these issues might enrich an individual's spiritual life). He also offers a comprehensive spiritual formation program for men and women seeking to commit themselves to various forms of public service.

Many of these spiritual conversations are shaped by an individual’s prayerful response to one of Timothy’s books. Through his publications, Timothy creates experiences of prayer designed capture the imagination and evoke transformative personal reflection. The spiritual encounters presented in these books also provide a shared framework for intense conversations intended to assist men and women in clarifying the graces received in their prayer and in integrating these gifts into their lives.

Specifically, these different types of spiritual and reflective conversations involve:

Contemplation in Action

These discussions focus on the establishment of consistent patterns of personal prayer, spiritual reading and discernment. Most are short-term in nature, requiring relatively little work between conversations. However, they also offer an opportunity to participate in a comprehensive spiritual formation program focused on the deliberation and discernment of an individual’s personal vocation which requires greater independent reflection and preparation.

Healing and Restoration

These conversations explore the various ways in which personal or social traumas have challenged an individual’s faith in God’s presence in the world in order to discover spiritual practices capable of providing intimate encounters with God‘s loving presence in his or her life — both personal and communal. While these deliberations are neither therapy nor counseling, they do require the same emotional availability and commitment to personal introspection.

Articulate Witness & Creativity

These deliberations examine the foundations of an individual’s spiritual life and the expression his or her insights — spiritual and social — to others through various forms of creative expression, including the innovative use of technology and various forms of social communication. Since they involve long-term considerations, these exchanges require a serious commitment to reading and creative work between each conversation.

Creativity, Innovation & Change

These considerations address the complex interactions between spiritual insight, creative expression and cultural innovation — whether in artistic work or in the development of innovative forms of human interaction.
